Impact report: news from North Austin breweries

At the end of April, Kasey’s in Hopsquad began serving from its food truck at Hopsquad Brewing Co., located at 2307 Kramer Lane, Austin. The new food truck is open Wednesday through Sunday at the North Austin Brewery. Kasey’s serves up fried pickles, chicken wings and more, with occasional game day specials during Austin FC’s game watch nights.

Red Horn Coffee House and Brewing Co.’s second location opened on June 21 and serves tacos, beer, and coffee. The Cedar Park-based company opened the second site for its growing coffee and beer production. The location also has a taco kitchen for its partnership with Mexican food truck Taconmaye. The new location is near the Cedar Park and Leander border at 1615 Scottsdale Drive, Bldg. 1, Ste. 110, Leander. It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The first location is at 13010 W. Austin Beerworks celebrated its 10th anniversary of service in June at 3001 Industrial Terrace, Austin. The North Austin Brewery, known for its flagship beers like Pearl-Snap and Fire Eagle, reopened its sales room to customers on June 7. The auction room had been closed since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. 512-821-2494.


North Austin Belgian beer specialists Celis Brewery opened a dog park on May 8 at their premises, located at 10001 Metric Blvd., Austin. The new dog park offers a grassed, enclosed area for supervised dogs to play while owners enjoy a covered patio with tables. 512-524-2377.
