Lawmaker Ellen W. Birnbaum Invites Residents to Attend Next Series of Tax Exemption Workshops

WHAT: Nassau County Lawmaker Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck), in collaboration with the Nassau County Assessment Department, announces the return of in-person property tax exemption workshops for residents of the 10th Legislative District.

During the workshops, Assessment Department staff will assist residents in applying for a Veteran, Elderly, Cold War Veteran, Volunteer Firefighter and Paramedic, Limited Income Disability, and / or Home Renovation exemption. Enhanced STAR applications will also be processed for owners already registered in the STAR program before January 2, 2015.

In order to best protect the health and safety of employees and residents, this year’s workshops are by appointment only. Owners are asked to make an appointment by calling 516-571-1500 or visiting www.nassaucountyny.gov/assessment and using the appointment planner link. All workshops take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (last meeting at 2:45 p.m.).
