Property tax deadline approaches for residents of the town of Henderson

City of Henderson, Ky. Officials are reminding city residents of the upcoming property tax deadline.

Landowners within city limits have until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.4 to pay their 2021 property tax bills without becoming overdue, according to city officials.

Tax bills can be paid in person at the Henderson Civic Center (222 First St.), but the Civic Center will be closed on Friday, December 31 for the New Years holiday.

Payments can also be dropped off at the collection box in The Depot Visitor Center parking lot at 101 N. Water St. and at the Civic Center drive-thru window.

Payments postage stamped by Jan. 4 will not be overdue, according to the city.

The city says those looking for an online payment option can go through Value Payment Systems, which is a third-party automated payment service that works with the city. Those who use VPS will be charged a convenience fee for each transaction.

  • Convenience Fees Charged for Online or Automated Telephone Service Utility Fees: Debit Card, $ 1.95; credit card, $ 2.95; and commercial / international credit card, $ 4.95.
  • Convenience Fee Charged for Online or Automated Telephone Service Tax / Non-Tax: Debit Card, 1%; and credit card, 2.5%.
